What is the difference between DC fast chargers and level 2 chargers?
DC fast chargers are higher kilowatt chargers that can charge electric vehicles in 30 minutes while level 2 chargers are lower kilowatt chargers which can take 5 hours to full charge an electric vehicle. Learn more about the Charge Pro chargers
What businesses should I install DC Fast Chargers at?
DC fast chargers are ideal for pretty much all businesses. There are different levels of DC fast chargers. Some can charge an electric vehicle in 30 minutes while others can take an hour. The more kw the charger is the fast it will charge to a point.
Gas stations are great businesses for 120kw DC fast chargers while a retail shopping center would be good to install a 60kw DC fast charger.
What businesses are good for level 2 EV chargers?
There are different sizes of level 2 chargers as well. Most start at 7kw and go up to 11kw and some even go to 19kw. The higher the kw of the charger the faster the EV charger will charge an electric vehicle.
For example, lets say we want to charge 50kw of our EV battery and we have an 11kw EV charger. That will take around 4.5 hours.
Apartments, condos, retail shopping centersare great for level 2 EV chargers. Anywhere customers or employees will be there for a few hours. You can even have a combination of both DC fast chargers and level 2 EV chargers installed.
